The Centre is part of a team of consultants providing support to the Grant Schools Component of the Victorian Discovering Democracy Civics and Citizenship Education Professional Development Program.  In this component, Victorian primary and secondary schools in all three systems have been provided with small grants to assist in the implementation of the Federal Discovering Democracy program.  By the end of 2003, there will have been four rounds of grants to schools.

The Centre has been assisting with the coordination of this component, with provision of professional development to all teachers involved, and with direct support to the individual schools.  In 2001, the Centre was directly involved in the publication of the book Discovering Democracy in Action: Learning From School Practice, which was written by teachers in the Grant Schools.  It is intended that a similar publication or publications will be produced in 2003 - 4.
