Thesis Writing Circle

Due to the popularity and success of the pilot program in 2005, the Thesis Writers' Circle is available again for students to apply for a place in the program. The program is for students in enrolled in DEd, Masters or PhD programs in the Graduate School of Education undertaking a major thesis of at least 30,000 words are welcome to apply. International and local, non-English-speaking background and English-speaking background students are welcome. Please note that applicants for this course offered in May must be in the final stages of writing their thesis. Participants are required to have drafts of chapters to workshop throughout the program. Writers’ circles provide a supportive environment for postgraduate research students who are in the final ‘writing up’ stage of their candidature to workshop their writing and receive regular, constructive peer-feedback. Participating in this free program you will:

  • Develop your understanding of effective ways to organise written text in Education theses.
  • Practise writing and editing strategies to improve the clarity of your written expression.
  • Increase your confidence as an academic writer and your awareness of writing issues and resources.
