School ARC/NCC Grant Preparation Support Scheme - guidelines
The aim of the School’s ARC Grant Preparation Support Scheme (formerly called the ARC Incentive Scheme) is to enable staff who have teaching and other non-research commitments to obtain up to $500 in funds towards research or other assistance in preparing applications for National Competitive Grants, including:
• Linkage-Project
• Indigenous Researchers Development
• Discovery-Project
• Linkage-Infrastructure and Linkage-International grants
or any other grant listed on the Australian Competitive Grants Register.
The guidelines for the scheme have been simplified to make it easier for researchers to claim the funding. Under the guidelines, it is no longer necessary to submit an application in order to access the $500 grant preparation money. Instead, researchers who submit their Expression of Interest to Research Services and who meet the eligibility criteria, can draw on their cluster/centre account for up to $500 for any of the specified purposes, then claim the funds back from the School when the application is submitted. University of Melbourne Major Grant Preparation Support Scheme
Researchers intending to submit Linkage Projects applications or Discovery applications may want to consider applying to the University's Grant Preparation Support Scheme. These small grants are designed to assist researchers to prepare applications for external research funding that involve two or more institutions or extensive University collaboration with industry. They may be applied for at any time during the year.
Amounts of up to $1500 may be requested towards travel, research assistance and consumables used in preparing proposals to external granting bodies.

Please contact Emily Murray in Research Services if you have any queries about the scheme or require assistance in the preparation of your application.
