Project Title: Video-based mediation between research and practice

Project Summary: This project will examine issues at stake for teachers and students in five major universities as China seeks to modernise and yet maintain its Chinese identity in the face of increasing globalistation and the spread of English. Undertaken in collaboration with leading Chinese scholars, findings uniquely, will present bilateral perspectives on issues raised in the data. The results will be of significance to China scholars and to many others elsewhere grappling with similar issues. The project develops one of the four themes for the restructured Faculty and will deepen relationships with significant scholars at major Chinese institutions, also a prominent goal of the University and Faculty.
