Project Title: Preparing beginning teachers of language and literacy in the Middle Years of Schooling

Project Summary: The project will examine key factors in the preparation and development of beginning teachers of literacy in the middle years of schooling by investigating their attitudes and pedagogic content knowledge, before, during and after their final professional practice placements. Two cohorts of pre-service teachers will be focused on: final year Bachelor of Teaching students (Primary) and Diploma of Education students (Secondary) undertaking the Learning Area Study English Language and Literacy.
