Faculty of Education Competitive GrantsProject Title: Video-based mediation between research and practice Project Summary: Recent research into well-taught mathematics classrooms internationally has identified specific practices with the potential to inform Australian classroom practice. The utilisation of these findings by teachers and teacher educators requires the development of a medium by which this can occur. This project is intended to pilot the representation of these findings in video format and their integration into focused case methods in-service activity, which will then be evaluated with respect to its effectiveness in (i) representing research findings in a form relevant to teachers, (ii) catalysing teacher reflection on practice, and (iii) stimulating consequent change in teacher practice. |
