Project Title: Young children’s literacy knowledge

Project Summary: The aim of this project is to investigate young children’s knowledge of literacy.  Outcomes will include the identification of stages in the development of early literacy knowledge and the construction of an instrument to assess such knowledge.  The project is in keeping with national and international priorities for early literacy learning (see e.g., Department of Premier and Cabinet, 2004; Education for All Global Monitoring Report, 2006).
