Melbourne Education Research Institute

The Melbourne Education Research Institute (MERI) is the umbrella agency for research activities of the Graduate School of Education which is, on almost every measure the leading research Graduate School in education in Australia. The Institute's roles include identifying and supporting research of genuine international significance and ensuring collaborative planning between research and teaching. The Institute is led by its Director, Professor Barry McGaw, the Associate Dean (Research), Associate Professor Margaret Brown, and the Assistant Dean (Research Training), Associate Professor David Beckett, and supported by the Graduate School’s Research Services Unit. The major research activities of the Graduate School are:
