Applying to be a Research Student

 

Before you apply

  1. Decide which course of study you would like to undertake from the list of research degrees available and ensure that you are eligible for admission.
  2. Decide on an area of research in which you are interested. You should also refer the following websites for information on current research and contact details for academic staff members:
  3. Make contact with prospective supervisors before submitting a formal application. When making contact with potential supervisors please consider and address the following questions:
    • Have you looked into the research background and active research interests of your proposed supervisor sufficiently?
    • Do you have a solid research project proposal underway that you are ready to discuss?
    • Have your discussed your degree options, research Masters, DEd or PhD?
    • Do you know what fees and resources are required/available to you?

Please note that the availability of potential supervisors is dependant on the success of the application, supervisory workload and other factors.
