Career Outcomes
The Melbourne Graduate School of Education aims to educate future leaders in the teaching profession. Graduates have traditionally enjoyed high employment rates, above the national average (Graduate Destination Survey 2007) and attractive starting salaries, commensurate with any other profession.
The Master of Teaching has been developed in collaboration with prospective employers, government departments and industry groups to ensure you meet professional recognition requirements within Victoria. It also aligns with global teaching standards.
As well as teaching, you can choose from a variety of career paths in a range of educational and professional settings, depending on your level of study. These include:
- Centacare agencies treating children with emotional and behavioural difficulties
- Department of Human Services, government agencies, clinics and private psychological practice
- Catholic Education Offices in assessment teams and teams working in schools.
Even though the Master of Teaching only started in 2008 there has already been a positive response from employers, with many graduates being employed following completion of their Postgraduate Diploma and some even being tagged mid-year for employment after graduation.
