Early Childhood Teaching : Course Structure and Delivery
The part of the Master of Teaching comprises the Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching (Early Childhood), at the end of which graduates will be qualified to work in childcare and pre-school settings.
Options to complete the Master of Teaching (an additional 50 points) include specialisation in the Early Childhood field (preparing graduates for work in childcare and pre-school settings),or undertaking an Early Years option (which prepares graduates for teaching in the early years of primary school).
Completion of the Masters can be undertaken anytime up to five years after completion of the Postgraduate Diploma.
The Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching (Early Childhood) is available in two alternative modes:
- Accelerated full-time mode, in which the 150 points (equivalent to 1.5 years of full-time study) is undertaken intensively within a calendar year
- Reduced load full-time mode, in which the 150 points (equivalent to 1.5 years of full-time study) is spread over two years.
