Melbourne Graduate School of Education Master of Teaching

Invitation from the Dean

If you have a passion for learning and a genuine enthusiasm to impart knowledge, then teaching is the career for you.

The Melbourne Graduate School of Education (MGSE), and its former incarnations, has been producing the highest quality teachers for over one-and-a-half centuries, both at the undergraduate and graduate level.

The reform of teacher education has been one of the key priorities of the MGSE since I commenced as Dean of Education.

The introduction of the Melbourne Model in 2008 has provided the context and catalyst for rapid and substantial reform. In 2008, the new Master of Teaching program will be introduced in parallel with the last intake into our two undergraduate programs, Bachelor of Education (Primary) and Bachelor of Early Childhood Education.

The introduction of the Master of Teaching signifies a truly momentous occasion in the Melbourne Graduate School of Education's history, and, indeed, the history of the University of Melbourne.

I welcome you to share our vision to engage, educate and enlighten future generations.
