Melbourne Graduate School of Education Master of Teaching

Invitation from the Dean

If you have a passion for learning and a genuine enthusiasm to impart knowledge, then teaching is the career for you.

In 2008, the introduction of the Melbourne Model provided the catalyst for substantial reform to our teacher preparation programs, which builds on the disciplinary knowledge and critical analytic skills of graduate entry students. We take the teacher education experience even further.

The Master of Teaching aspires to develop a new breed of teacher, to improve and elevate the teaching profession. What makes it different is the unique delivery program using new models that link theory and practice. We foresee this new qualification becoming the new benchmark in teacher education to which others will aspire.

The Master of Teaching has been designed to better prepare students for the life of a teacher and it will also give our graduates an important edge in the workplace, whether they choose to work in Australia, or in Asia, Europe or the US.

The first cohort of Master of Teaching students into the Melbourne Graduate School of Education have been immersed in classroom life under the experienced eyes of their supervising teachers and their academic mentors from the beginning of their programs and the response has been overwhelmingly positive.

I invite you to explore the website to find out more on how the Master of Teaching will help you stand out from the rest. Rickards
