Knowledge Transfer

Within The University of Melbourne, the traditional academic tasks of research and teaching have been expanded to include the key strand of Knowledge Transfer. This strand recognises the full range of benefits which a world-renowned University generates when it works in partnership with business, government and community to address issues of local, national and global significance. The contribution of staff in the Language and Literacy Education cluster to Knowledge Transfer is characterised by its reputation for excellence and quality, building as it does strong, resilient relationships with the wider educational community and society at large.

The range of Knowledge Transfer activities represented here:

  • generate intellectual capital in ways that mutually benefit the School and the external partners with which it engages
  • are deeply embedded within the School’s teaching and research activities
  • are characterised by their responsiveness and relevance to international, social, economic, environmental and cultural issues.
