ICCR set to launch online portal

The ICCR has begun preliminary testing of it's online video database portal. This online system is based on the powerful ImagePortal system developed by NetXposure. Researchers working on projects at the ICCR can now browse, search, download and upload their data to the ICCR database from anywhere in the world.

Data Collection

Data collection is currently underway on the Geography project "Strengthening Standards of Teaching through Linking Standards and Teacher Learning: The Development of Professional Standards for Teaching School Geography". Victorian schools are the present focus, with interstate data collection planned for mid 2008.

Storage

Additional data is being continuously added to the ICCR database. Recent additions to the LPS data base include classroom data from Singapore and Korea. All Australian Mathematics and Science lessons from the TIMSS-R video project are now available for analysis on the ICCR database. ICCR storage capacity has been increased to 12 Terabytes.

Software Development

The ICCR has formed a collaborative partnership with the Australian company Sportstec to adapt the software Studiocode for use as a video analysis tool in the analysis of classroom data. The new software is now available and in use at the ICCR. Contact the ICCR for a demonstration.
