About Educational Psychology

Overview

If you would like to be an accredited registered practising psychologist, the Melbourne Graduate School of Education offers training aimed specifically at the academic and professional preparation of psychologists for work in schools and other educational settings as either staff members or private practitioners.

All teaching staff members in Educational Psychology are active researchers in their fields and ensure that the content of subjects reflect the latest theory and research.

The following programs are offered

The main goals of these programs are:

  • to equip graduates to undertake professional roles as educational psychologists to assist clients individually and in groups
  • to offer consultation services and to work as team members in educational settings
  • to assist graduates to further their understanding of aspects of psychology, particularly as applied to educational settings, and to use and undertake research in this area

Subjects are delivered on campus with the exception of practicum placements taught in relevant educational settings. Please note you will be required to satisfy academic standards and an interview with staff.
