Professional Practice
Professional Practice is the administrative unit which is responsible for the organisation of practical experience in schools, kindergartens, childcare centres and other educational settings. Teachers in schools/settings associated with the Melbourne Graduate School of Education and staff from a number of teaching programs are involved in the conduct of practicum subjects. Associate Professor Christine Ure (Associate Dean, Teacher Education), is responsible as chief examiner for preservice practicum subjects and for Professional Practice academic issues.
Placements are arranged by Professional Practice staff in schools/settings designated by the Melbourne Graduate School of Education. Criteria for assessment for each placement are clearly related to objectives of each course.
All practicum subjects are graded and grades are determined by the marks derived by the scoring system as set out in each Criteria for Assessment sheet. For a detailed explanation please refer to the Professional Practice General Manual and the appropriate course manuals.
