Mission Statement
The mission of the Centre for Post-compulsory Education and Lifelong Learning is to examine and explain social patterns of student achievement and to help develop policy to improve the benefits of education for the whole community. The scope of the research of this group of staff covers all sectors of education – compulsory, school, senior secondary, vocational training, university and adult and community education.
Curriculum, achievement, student attitudes and experiences, transition and the professional culture of teachers are main topics of interest as are system issues of resources, programs, accountability, effectiveness and equity. The team conducts research in all States and Territories across Australia and also internationally through such agencies as the OECD and the World Bank.
