Role
Professor Johanna Wyn is director of the Youth Research Centre and is leader of the Education, Equity and Social Change cluster in the Melbourne Graduate School of Education. Her research interests involve her in all three research programs of the Youth Research Centre (youth transitions, youth health and wellbeing and youth participation). She supervises research students in these fields and teaches in the Univeristy's undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

Research
Professor Wyn's research is informed by a sociological perspective and a commitment to using inter-disciplinary approaches. She has a strong track record with the use of mixed method research techniques and participatory approaches involving young people and research clients. Her research explores young people's subjectivities in a context of social change, the nature of civic engagement and citizenship, learning in formal and informal education, across secondary, post-secondary and tertiary settings. Her work is also informed by the promotion of young people wellbeing and their active engagement in learning, community and research. She is currently researching the following topics:
