Role
Bern Murphy is a Research Fellow at the Australian Youth Research Centre. She has worked on a range of evaluation projects in relation to young people within an education setting or young people in drug treatment/rehabilitation settings. Bern also teaches within the Social and Professional Contexts subject and is a Clinical Specialist in the MTeach program, based at Princes hill Secondary College supervising Teacher Canditates.

Research
Bern has conducted extensive work in drug education/drug treatment for young people and is interested in student wellbeing issues. Education opportunities for marginalised young people, espeicially indigenous young people is also a keen area of interest. She has also been involved in the development of a range of curriculum materials for school drug education.
Bern is interested in pre-service teacher education particulary in relation to the teacher as a professional and wellbeing issues for students.
