Program 3

Innovation and Evaluation of Children's Services
Lead by: Professor Glenda MacNaughton

Developing collaborative, research-based approaches to services for children and their families is a cornerstone of this area of the CEIEC’s research and project work. Specific projects have been driven by issues and questions that arise from local, state and national service providers and the approaches taken to each project differs according to the specific needs of the initiator. Overall we believe that it is important to use a capacity-building, strengths-based approach to such projects especially in small, not-for-profit organizations that need to rely on a small pool of people to drive organizational development and change. For this reason, we regularly draw on two complimentary approaches to framing our innovation and evaluation projects: collaborative action-learning and appreciative inquiry.
