Equity and Childhood Program Membership Renewal
Changes to CEIEC Memberships
On 1 May 2011, the Centre for Equity and Innovation in Early Childhood became the Equity and Childhood Program, in the Melbourne Graduate School of Education’s Youth Research Centre (YRC). This move formalised already strong links between our team and the YRC, and we are looking forward to even greater collaboration. This move had implications for current CEIEC members which are outlined below.
We will continue to provide Newsletters in 2011 to ensure members are kept up to date with the changes occurring and the work of the Equity and Childhood Program. From 2012 the Equity and Childhood Program will provide a quarterly E-Bulletin instead of a Newsletter to ensure members are kept up to date with the work of the Equity and Childhood Program. This E-Bulletin will be more informal than the previous newsletters. We will continue to provide Members’ Briefing Papers in 2011 and 2012. From 2013 onwards we anticipate Equity and Childhood Program staff will contribute to the YRC Research Report Series and we will notify members when these publications become available via the E-Bulletin. We are currently reviewing the International Journal of Equity and Innovation in Early Childhood (IJEIEC). A 2011 volume is already underway and the Equity and Childhood Program team will be in touch as articles are made available online. We will continue to offer reduced conference registrations to the annual Honoring the Child, Honoring Equity conference for members. Discounted professional development will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
