Profiling Literacy and Numeracy for Indigenous Pre-School Children

Summary

The Preschool Literacy and Numeracy Profile was piloted in four States: Tasmania, Victoria, Western Australia and Queensland. Teachers undertook a large amount of additional work to provide the data for the profiles developed by Professor Bridie Raban. The profile returns yielded a large amount of data and also provided a snapshot of teacher responses and reflections. The Profiles clearly discriminated on the basis of literacy and numeracy across age location groups.
