ARC Online Testing System (ARCOTS)
The Assessment Research Centre (ARC) has developed an online testing system, referred to as the Assessment Research Centre Online Testing System (ARCOTS). The system is web-based, and allows schools to administer tests online to their students with various levels of Literacy, Numeracy and Problem Solving. The tests have been designed by the ARC using a multiple-choice item format. The online assessment is linked to ALPS Online, providing schools with a range of reports that can directly support targeted instructional programs.
The development of ARCOTS is a significant change in making test administration easy and accessible to schools by moving away from paper-and-pencil administered tasks. ARCOTS does not depend on the school intranet or server and therefore maximises school efficiencies.
