About MelbourneThe University of MelbourneThe Dialogues and Differences Symposium will be held at the Faculty of Education in the grounds of University of Melbourne's Parkville campus. The University is directly due north of the city and is only a short walk to the inner city suburbs of Carlton, Fitzroy and North Melbourne. The hub of the Dialogues and Differences Symposium will be the Charles Pearson Theatre. Melbourne Melbourne is Australia's second largest city. Autumn is a fantastic time to be in city with pleasant weather (cool evenings and fine autumnal days) and the annual Melbourne International Comedy Festival running throughout April. Travelling around Melbourne is easy thanks to an integrated tram, train and bus public transport network. It is easy to explore the city on foot, and there is a ready supply of yellow taxis. Airport Melbourne's Tullamarine International Airport is located 25 kilometres from the city. Taxis from the airport to the centre of Melbourne (and the University of Melbourne) cost between $35-$40 dollars including airport levy and Citylink tolls. There is also the Skybus service that operates 24 hours, 7 days a week. Buses run every 10-15 minutes throughout the day and every 30-60 minutes overnight. Skybus Hotel Shuttle operates from the city 0600-2200 Monday to Friday and 0730-1830 Saturday and Sunday. One-way tickets are $15 and $24 for return tickets.
